“EVERY Life Is Worth Touching.”
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies
and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction
so that we may be able to comfort those who are in ANY affliction
with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
II Corinthians 1:3-4
Mission:
In the spirit of II Corinthians 1:3-4 and following Jesus’ example of touching those who are hurting, the mission of Touch Ministry is to serve as a channel through which God’s compassion, healing, love and comfort can flow to those who are living with HIV/AIDS as well as family members, friends and caregivers of individuals with HIV/AIDS.
Description:
We seek to educate youth, adults and seasoned citizens within our congregation and community about HIV/AIDS so as to continually heighten the awareness of and prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS.
We believe, “Knowledge is power.” Therefore, knowledge empowers us to make wise decisions.
Touch Ministry works through several programs:
Counseling and Prayer – Confidential one-on-one Christian counseling as well as prayer.
Informative Meetings – Learning the facts about HIV/AIDS (transmission, prevention, testing, treatment etc.) through open forums.
Inreach and Outreach Services – Linking directly with those in our congregation and community who are living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
Referral Assistance – Connecting individuals with HIV/AIDS support services that provide case management, transportation, housing and support groups.
